Go Green

Engaging and involving Trainees in all aspects of recycling.

About Go Green

Go Green collects and recycles aluminium/steel drink cans from other organisations, local residents, local companies and clubs. *Please note we are currently not accepting plastic bottle tops.

Our partnerships and contacts with local community have extended as we collect from more than 150 sites.

More recently we have undertaken contract work with local distributors which involves small part assembly works for the building trade and for domestic use.

We have space for additional contracts. For further information or to discuss, please contact enjoy@theemilyjordanfoundation.org.uk

Go Green - day services for people with learning disability

Trainee Experience

Go Green offers day opportunities to people with more complex needs providing high quality, meaningful activities. The trainees engage in all aspects of recycling from collections, sorting and crushing through to light assembly work.

Sustainability achievements

  • We have saved 16,254 bikes from going to landfill since 2014.

  • Over 22,000kg of aluminium has been recycled, the equivalent of two double decker buses.

  • Over 13 tonnes of steel, 2.5 tonnes of foil and over 9,000kg of plastic has all been saved from landfill and instead have been recycled. Our totals are still rising.

  • We also collect batteries for safe disposal and recycling and have also collected 22,755 pairs of spectacles for recycling.

Our totals are still rising!
