Supporting people with learning disabilities
to lead fulfilled lives
We run a spectrum of projects that teach people with learning disabilities to learn new and practical work-based skills with an aim of finding and remaining in employment.
See staff, volunteers and trainees working together to achieve, in a safe and supportive environment.
About The Emily Jordan Foundation
The Emily Jordan Foundation (EJF) – was set up by Emily's family and friends after she died in April 2008 in New Zealand, after finishing her degree.
Emily understood the difficulties that people with disabilities face, both socially and when trying to gain employment, as she grew up with a brother with moderate learning disabilities.
For more information about how the Charity was formed and has developed see About us.
What do we do?
The Emily Jordan Foundation provides:
Work based support projects for people who are in receipt of funding, known as a Personal Budget. This is supplied by the Local Authority after an assessment. Sometimes people are funded via another provider, or they choose to self fund through their own means.
Services designed for young adults in transition and for adults with learning and physical disabilities who would like to develop their skills and to be involved in work related activity to their own ability level.
Support for people to develop, socially and emotionally, whilst learning new skills. For people with more complex needs we offer a good days opportunity to mix with their friends and learn skills, whilst for those with moderate learning disabilities we focus on skills development, to enable those that can to move forward towards work.
We also aim to support, if possible, people who are struggling to get into the workplace, but do not get the same degree of financial support from local authorities. This is one of our primary Charitable aims.
“My daughter attends 2 Services. Staff are helpful and friendly. I would recommend EJF to others and rate it 10 out of 10.”

Our sister charity
The Emily Jordan Foundation Projects opened at Quarry Bank in Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council in summer 2021 and has had a very successful first year in operation.
We are thrilled to have successfully launched our sister charity, The Emily Jordan Foundation Projects which supports people with mild to moderate learning disabilities in Dudley.
The charity mirrors the work-focused services we have established Kidderminster and the projects have been well received in Quarry Bank and surrounding areas.
