The Emily Jordan Foundation has been successful in obtaining funding from the Big Lottery Fund to support people with moderate learning disabilities to develop their employability and technical skills.

We are looking for a person to lead on the development and implementation of a 3 year Volunteer Programme. It will involve the advertising, recruitment and line management of volunteers, the development of processes and systems to capture activity levels and progression made by people with moderate learning disabilities as they work within our well established project, Spokes (a bicycle renovation project), Twigs (horticulture) and WoodWorks (woodworking skills).

The main purpose of the project is to move people with moderate disabilities, who are not in receipt of social care funded personal budgets, closer towards paid work. You will also recruit a bank of Lead Volunteers to work with this group. The post holder will require excellent people skills and the ability to build productive working relationships, a confident communicator, problem solver, be organised and efficient. This post will be crucial in supporting the CEO and small management team in the future development of volunteering within the Foundation. Working knowledge of email, data collection, excel package and the ability to produce reports is essential.
